What it is

The Altecnic 3/4 M BSP Type A Drain Off Valve is a draining valve used on heating and plumbing systems. It provides a controlled point at which water can be drawn off from the system, and is listed for use on boilers within the Altecnic DOCs range. The Type A pattern uses a 3/4 male BSP threaded connection.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The valve body, cap or seal weeps or drips when in the closed position.
  • Water continues to pass through when the valve is shut, so the system cannot be isolated at the drain point.
  • The threaded connection is corroded, cross-threaded or damaged so it will not seal.
  • The valve spindle or operating head is seized, rounded or broken and will not turn.
  • The drain outlet cannot be opened or closed reliably during system draining or refilling.
