What it is
An exhaust fan assembly for Potterton Suprima 50 HE and 60 HE boilers, and the Main 15 HE and 18 HE heat-only range. The fan pushes fresh air into the combustion chamber so gas burns correctly, and clears the combusted gas afterwards; the boiler's safety controls stop it firing if the fan isn't proven.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The fan fails to start and the boiler won't fire
- Unusual grinding or rattling noise from the fan
- The boiler locks out on a fan-proving fault
- Visible wear or cracking on the fan housing
