What it is
The Baxi 409583 is a Sifan fan assembly supplied by Baxi for use in their heating appliances. The fan draws combustion air through the appliance and pushes flue gases out to atmosphere, so it sits at the centre of the safe operation of the unit. A working fan assembly keeps the air and flue path balanced, which in turn supports stable ignition and consistent heat output.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The appliance locks out or fails to ignite, with a fan or air pressure related fault code logged.
- Boiler noise changes noticeably — rumbling, whining or scraping from the fan housing during a demand for heat.
- Intermittent operation, where the appliance runs for a short period and then shuts down.
- Visible damage to the impeller, housing or motor, or signs of soot or debris build-up around the fan.
- Repeated lockouts that clear after a reset but return on the next firing cycle.
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance model and GC number against the compatibility list, as fan assemblies vary between ranges.
- Check the part number on the existing fan and compare it with BAXI409583 and 409583 before purchase.
- Inspect the fan gasket or sealing arrangement on removal, as a replacement seal is often needed when the assembly is refitted.
