What it is
The Nuway H.T. LEADS (COMPLETE) is a high tension ignition lead assembly measuring 420 mm, supplied by Nuway for use on their oil burner range. It carries the high voltage spark from the ignition transformer or control unit to the burner electrodes. The complete lead replaces the HT side of the ignition circuit as a single item.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Burner fails to ignite or locks out repeatedly despite fuel supply being present
- Visible spark arcing to earth or tracking along the lead insulation
- Cracked, charred or brittle insulation, particularly near the electrode or transformer ends
- Intermittent ignition that changes when the lead is moved or repositioned

- Confirm the burner model against the fit list above, as Nuway used different ignition arrangements across the range
- Check that a 420 mm lead length suits the routing between the transformer and the electrodes on the appliance
- Inspect the electrode terminals and transformer outlet for the correct connection type and condition before fitting
- Check whether one or two HT leads are required for the burner's ignition circuit
