What it is
The B-82340 is a one-piece pilot connector of the Mertik pattern, used on Flavel Fires and Kinder gas fire appliances. It forms part of the pilot burner assembly, connecting the pilot injector and pipework so the pilot flame can be established and sensed. It is a service part for the pilot burner group on the appliance families listed below.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Pilot flame will not light or will not stay lit after release of the control knob
- Visible damage, cracking or distortion at the connector body
- Soot or discolouration around the pilot assembly indicating a poor or unstable pilot flame
- Leak detected at the pilot connection during a tightness test
- Connector seized, rounded or damaged at the joint when servicing the pilot assembly
