What it is
These are Altecnic 22mm Dirtmag isolation valves, supplied under part number ALT-DM37322. They form part of the Altecnic Dirtmag IQ™ magnetic filter assembly and allow the filter body to be isolated from the heating circuit. Isolation at this point lets the Dirtmag unit be drained, serviced or removed without having to drain down the wider system.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The valve spindle will not turn, or turns only with excessive force
- Weeping or dripping from the valve body or spindle gland
- The valve no longer isolates the Dirtmag unit, so water continues to pass when shut
- Corrosion or scale build-up around the valve body or connections
- Knackered or rounded valve handle
