What it is

This is a 3/4F/F ball valve with a red lever handle from Altecnic, supplied as part of the Altecnic ball valve range. It provides quarter-turn isolation on pipework, with female threaded connections at both ends. The lever handle gives a clear visual indication of the open or closed position.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Water weeping from the spindle or gland when the valve is operated
  • Drips or seepage at either threaded connection that re-tightening does not stop
  • The lever turns but water continues to pass through when the valve is closed
  • The lever is seized, stiff or cannot be moved through its full quarter turn
  • Visible corrosion, cracking or distortion around the valve body
