What it is
The Altecnic 1/2F/F Gas Lever Ball Valve is a quarter-turn isolation valve for gas pipework, supplied with female threaded connections at both ends. The lever handle rotates through 90 degrees to move the ball between fully open and fully closed. It is intended for gas line isolation and is listed against the Altecnic ball valve range.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The valve passes gas when the lever is in the closed position
- Gas or leak-detection fluid shows at the spindle or lever stem
- The lever turns stiffly, binds, or no longer travels a full 90 degrees
- Weeping or staining at either threaded connection after tightening

- Confirm both connections on the existing valve are 1/2 inch female threaded
- Check the valve is being fitted to gas pipework and is suitable for the installation
- Confirm there is clearance around the valve body for the lever to swing through its full quarter turn
- Note the existing valve position and orientation before removal
