What it is
The Firebird manual air vent with a 1/8" connection is a service component for Firebird oil appliances. It is operated by hand to release trapped air from the system, which would otherwise cause gurgling, poor circulation or air locks. Being a manual type, it is bled by the engineer rather than venting automatically.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Dripping or weeping from the vent body or bleed screw
- Air stays trapped after bleeding, with gurgling or poor circulation
- The bleed screw is seized, rounded or will not seal
- Corrosion or staining around the vent body
Before you order
- Confirm the connection size is 1/8" and matches the tapping on the appliance
- Check the appliance model against the manufacturer's parts list
- Confirm a manual vent is required rather than an automatic type
- Check the condition of the thread and sealing face before fitting
