The Glow-worm A000035144 is an ignition transformer — the spark generator commonly called an ignitor — used to light the fuel at the pilot burner. It forms part of the pilot assembly and is generally switched by the appliance's PCB or control board, although some boilers use manual ignition instead. It is supplied as a Glow-worm spare part.
Signs this part needs replacing
- No spark at the pilot burner when the boiler calls for heat
- No audible clicking from the ignition circuit during a start attempt
- Pilot lights but the main burner fails to establish and the boiler locks out
- Repeated ignition lockouts that clear on reset and then return
- Pilot flame fails to light at all on appliances with manual ignition
