What it is
This is a silicone seal for the inspection cover and condensate tray on Ariston gas boilers. It is supplied in a 6mm x 8mm section and carries the manufacturer part number 999497. The seal sits between the inspection cover and the condensate tray face, closing the joint against condensate and flue gas leakage.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Condensate weeping or tracking from around the inspection cover joint
- The seal feels hard, brittle or flattened rather than pliable
- Visible splits, cracking or compression set in the silicone section
- Damp staining or corrosion on the cover or tray faces around the joint
- Flue gas smell or staining at the cover after the seal has been disturbed
