What it is
The Ariston 998894 is a fan assembly for Ariston heating appliances. It sits in the fan section of the appliance and performs two jobs: pushing fresh air into the combustion chamber so the gas burns correctly, and removing the burnt gases once combustion is complete. The appliance's safety controls monitor the fan continuously, and no gas is allowed through to the main burner while the fan has stopped working.
Because the fan sits at the heart of the combustion process, a failed unit will normally stop the appliance firing altogether rather than allow it to run in an unsafe condition.
