What it is
The Ariston 998680 is a burner gasket used on EcoCombi, Ecogenus and Ecosystem gas boilers. It seals the joint at the burner assembly, preventing combustion gases from escaping past the mating faces. The gasket is a service item and is replaced whenever the burner is disturbed or the existing seal has degraded.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible cracking, hardening or flattening of the gasket material
- Soot staining or discolouration around the burner joint
- Combustion readings outside the expected range on a flue gas analysis
- The gasket is disturbed or damaged during burner removal or servicing
- Signs of heat damage or leakage at the burner mating face
Before you order
- Confirm the boiler model and edition against the fit list above
- Check whether the appliance is LPG or NG, as editions differ
- Inspect the burner joint for any further damaged seals or fixings
- Confirm the part number 998680 matches the number on the existing gasket or the manufacturer's parts list
