What it is
The Ariston 998604 is a reset button used on Ariston Microgenus MFFI gas boilers. It forms part of the boiler's control assembly and is used to clear a lockout condition and return the appliance to normal operation. It is listed under controls within the gas boiler spares range.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The reset button no longer depresses or feels loose in its housing
- The button sticks in the pressed position and does not return
- The boiler cannot be reset after a lockout because the button makes no contact
- The button face is cracked, broken or missing
- The button has to be pressed repeatedly or with excessive force to register
Before you order
- Confirm the boiler model and edition against the fit list above
- Check the existing button for damage and confirm the fault lies with the button rather than the control board
- Isolate the appliance from the electrical supply before removing or fitting any control component
- Have the boiler model and serial details to hand when checking compatibility
