What it is
The Ariston 998407 is a 3/4 inch isolating valve fitted on the central heating flow connection. It allows the heating circuit to be shut off at the boiler for servicing, draining or component replacement without emptying the full system. It is used across the Ariston Genus 27 RFFI and Genus 30 MFFI boiler families.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible weeping or dripping from the valve body or spindle
- The valve spindle is seized and will not turn, so the circuit cannot be isolated
- Water tracking past the spindle gland when the valve is operated
- Corrosion, scale or staining around the valve joint
- A leak at the valve connection when the heating circuit is under pressure
