What it is
The Potterton 998253 is an 80mm gasket manufactured for Potterton Commercial Paramount gas boilers. It provides the sealing face at the joint it is fitted to, preventing leakage once the assembly is tightened down. The gasket is rated for use across the Paramount range in 30 KW and 40 KW outputs.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible cracking, hardening or flattening of the gasket material
- Traces of water or staining around the joint the gasket seals
- A joint that will not seal cleanly after re-tightening
- Recurring pressure loss or weeping at the same joint
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance is a Potterton Commercial Paramount and note its output rating
- Check the existing gasket measures 80mm across and matches part number 998253
- Isolate the gas and electrical supplies and allow the appliance to cool before work begins
- Inspect the mating faces for corrosion or damage before fitting the new gasket
