What it is
The Vaillant 981377 is a packing ring (O-ring) used to seal joints on Vaillant appliances. It is listed for the VU and Ecotec VU boiler range and the Arotherm PLUS heat pump family. The ring forms the seal at the joint it is fitted to, preventing water or system fluid from weeping past the connection.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible water or fluid weeping at the joint the ring seals
- The ring is cracked, split or perished
- The ring has hardened or flattened and no longer sits proud of its groove
- Damp staining or corrosion around the joint
- A leak that reappears after the joint is re-tightened
Before you order
- Confirm your appliance model against the fit list above
- Identify the joint the ring is being fitted to and check how many rings are needed
- Inspect the mating faces for damage before refitting, as a scored face will not seal on a new ring
- Check the manufacturer's parts list for your model if your appliance is not listed
