What it is
The Vaillant inner door seal (part number 981335) is a 1390mm sealing gasket that fits the inner combustion door on Vaillant Ecotec PLUS and VU series gas boilers. It seals the joint between the door and the heat exchanger face, keeping combustion products contained within the combustion chamber. A sound seal here is essential for correct combustion and safe flue gas paths.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible cracking, splitting or perishing along the seal
- The seal has hardened or flattened and no longer sits proud of the door groove
- Soot staining or discolouration around the door edge, indicating leakage
- Combustion readings drifting or failing to settle within tolerance
- The door cannot be refitted with a consistent, even seal
Before you order
- Confirm your boiler model against the fitment list above
- Check the existing seal length and profile match the 1390mm item
- Inspect the door and its fixings for distortion or damage before refitting
- Check the manufacturer's parts list if your model is not listed
