What it is
The Vaillant 981333 is a seal for the heat exchanger door and mixing arm assembly. It is fitted to Vaillant ecoTEC and Ecomax gas boilers, where it seals the joint at the heat exchanger door and mixing arm to prevent water and flue gas leakage. The seal is a service item and is replaced when the joint is disturbed or the existing seal has degraded.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping or staining around the heat exchanger door joint
- Visible hardening, flattening, cracking or deformation of the existing seal
- The seal has been disturbed during servicing or component removal
- Flue gas or combustion readings outside the expected range at the door joint
- Corrosion or residue build-up at the mixing arm and door mating faces
