What it is
The Vaillant 981159 sealing ring is a small elastomer seal used at joints and connections on a range of older Vaillant gas appliances. It is supplied by Vaillant as a pack of ten. The ring seals the mating faces it is fitted between, preventing water or gas weepage at that joint.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible water or gas weepage at the joint the ring seals
- The ring is flattened, hardened or has taken a permanent set
- Cracks, splits or nibbled edges visible on the ring
- Water staining or corrosion around the joint face
- Recurring pressure loss traced to a sealed connection
Before you order
- Check your appliance model against the fit list above before ordering
- Confirm the part number on your appliance against 981159
- Count how many joints you are resealing, as the pack contains ten rings
- Inspect the mating faces for corrosion or scoring before fitting a new ring
