What it is
The Vaillant 981143 sealing ring is a small water and gas path seal used on Vaillant Combicompact VCW and MAG appliance families. It is supplied as a pack of ten, so a single order covers multiple joints or a full service rebuild. The ring seals the mating faces of unions and connections where a leak-tight joint is required.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible weeping or a damp trace around a union or connection
- The ring has hardened, flattened or cracked with age
- Scale or corrosion deposits sitting on the sealing face
- A joint that continues to seep after being nipped up
- Water staining or crusting on nearby components below the joint
Before you order
- Confirm your appliance model and GC number against the fitment list above
- Check the manufacturer's parts list for your appliance to confirm 981143 is the correct seal for the joint you are working on
- Work out how many seals the job needs — this pack contains ten
- Inspect the mating faces for damage before fitting, as a scored face will not seal
