What it is
A compression ring from Vaillant, listed under part number 980365. It is supplied as a kit of five rings, intended for use where a compression joint is assembled on Vaillant appliance work. The ring seats between the pipe and the fitting body and deforms as the nut is tightened to form the seal.
Before you order
- Confirm the part number 980365 matches the ring specified for the appliance or fitting being worked on.
- Check the pipe size and fitting the ring is intended to seal against, as compression rings are size-specific.
- Allow for the kit quantity of five rings when assessing how many joints are to be made or remade.
- Inspect existing rings for distortion, scoring or hardening before reuse; a deformed ring will not seal reliably.
