What it is

The Andrews expansion relief valve is a pressure relief component for Andrews Water Heaters appliances. It is supplied with 1 1/4 inch x 1 1/2 inch connections and a set pressure of 13 bar, and its function is to relieve excess pressure from the heater or cylinder before it reaches unsafe levels.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Water weeping or discharging from the relief valve outlet during normal heating cycles
  • The valve continuing to pass water, or failing to reseat, after it has operated
  • System pressure that cannot be held, or that repeatedly climbs above the normal working level
  • Corrosion, scale or mineral build-up visible around the valve body or seat
