What it is
The Baxi 95605132 is a large plastic backnut supplied for unvented Baxi appliances. It is a threaded securing nut that holds a fitting or connection tight against a boss on the appliance, so the joint stays sealed under normal operating pressure. As a moulded plastic component it is a serviceable item rather than a permanent one, and it is replaced when the thread or body is damaged.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible cracking, splitting or crazing in the plastic body, particularly around the thread
- Stripped or cross-threaded threads so the nut will not run down cleanly
- Weeping or a slow drip at the joint after the nut has been tightened
- The nut backs off or fails to hold torque once the appliance is up to pressure
- Brittle or discoloured plastic on an older installation, which can fail on removal
