What it is
The AUTOMATIC AIR VENT AND EXTENSION is a Heatrae Sadia spare component for the Electromax family of hot water cylinders. It automatically releases trapped air from the cylinder and its associated water circuit, and the extension section allows the vent to be positioned clear of the appliance casing for unobstructed discharge. It is supplied under Heatrae Sadia part number 95605031.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Continuous weeping or dripping from the vent body or cap
- Water escaping rather than air being discharged when the vent operates
- Repeated air locking or gurgling in the cylinder or circuit after bleeding
- Visible scale, corrosion or staining around the vent and its connection
- The vent failing to seat or close once system pressure is established

- Check the build date against the fitment ranges, as pre January 2013, January 2013 to January 2016 and from January 2016 units are all listed

- Isolate and depressurise the cylinder and circuit before fitting
