What it is
A round expansion vessel manufactured by Vokera, part number 9266. It is fitted to Vokera Maxin series gas boilers and absorbs the pressure changes in the sealed heating circuit as the system water heats and cools. The vessel is supplied in the round format; where an older rectangular vessel is being replaced, pipe 8548 is also required.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Boiler pressure rises quickly when the heating is running and drops again once it cools
- Pressure relief valve discharging, or water weeping from the discharge pipe
- System pressure will not hold, requiring frequent topping up
- Water present at the vessel's air charge valve, or the valve will not hold pressure
- Audible knocking or banging from the boiler as the system heats up
