Valor Manual Reset Cut-Out (Sunfan) 91816603

The manual reset cut-out (Sunfan) is a safety device fitted to Valor gas boilers. It breaks the appliance's control circuit when an overheat condition is detected, shutting the boiler down until the reset is operated by hand. The Sunfan reference identifies the variant used within this appliance family.

• The boiler locks out and will not fire until the cut-out is reset by hand
• The reset button trips repeatedly shortly after the boiler is restarted
• The boiler shuts down during a demand for heating or hot water with no other fault indicated
• The cut-out fails to reset, leaving the appliance permanently locked out
• Visible damage, scorching or a loose or corroded terminal on the cut-out body

• Confirm the boiler model against the manufacturer's parts list before ordering
• Check the existing cut-out for the Sunfan marking and compare the terminal arrangement
• Verify the fault is with the cut-out itself rather than the thermostat, sensor or wiring
• Isolate the electrical supply and the gas supply before any work on the appliance
