It is a pressure relief and safety valve used across the Worcester Bosch Greenstore range of combi and system boilers. Its function is to open and discharge excess pressure, protecting the appliance and the heating system from over-pressurisation.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping or discharging from the valve outlet when system pressure is below the set pressure
- System pressure repeatedly falls and needs topping up after the valve has vented
- Visible scale, corrosion or debris around the valve seat or outlet
- The valve fails to reseat or hold pressure after operating
- Persistent dripping from the discharge pipe with no demand on the system
