What it is
The ignition cable is a Worcester Bosch spare lead that carries the high-voltage ignition signal to the spark electrode on Greenstar gas boilers. It forms part of the ignition circuit on Greenstar 2000 and 4000 series combi and system appliances. The cable is supplied under Worcester Bosch part number 87379029990.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler attempts to fire but does not light, with no spark at the electrode
- Repeated ignition lockouts on start-up
- Visible cracking, burning or chafing on the cable insulation
- Arcing or tracking from the cable rather than at the electrode
- Intermittent ignition that comes and goes when the cable is moved
Before you order
- Confirm the boiler model and GC number against the fit list above
- Inspect the spark electrode and its connector as well as the cable
- Check the cable routing and clips for heat damage or abrasion
- Isolate the electrical supply before removing or fitting the lead
