What it is

The Worcester Bosch 871860005A0 is a condensate collector seal used on Worcester Greenstar condensing boilers. It sits at the joint between the condensate collector and the trap or sump assembly, sealing the connection so that condensate is carried away without escaping into the casing or onto the surrounding components. The seal is a service item: it is compressed each time the collector is removed and refitted, so it is normally renewed whenever the condensate path is opened up for cleaning or repair.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Water or condensate weeping from the base of the boiler around the collector or trap area
  • Staining, crusting or white deposits on the collector body where condensate has been escaping
  • The seal is flattened, hardened, split or visibly deformed when the collector is removed
  • Condensate pooling inside the casing rather than draining away through the trap
  • A recurring smell of flue products near the appliance caused by a poor seal at the condensate path

Before you order

  • Check the GC number and appliance serial plate against the compatibility list to confirm the seal suits your model.
  • The alternative number 1030853 may be listed on older documentation or stock records for the same item.
  • Inspect the collector and trap while the seal is off; if either is cracked or scaled, replace them at the same time.
  • This part is fitted to a gas appliance; installation must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
