What it is
The Worcester Bosch 87161429060 is a SWEP type E8/14 plate heat exchanger used on Camray and Heatslave oil-fired combi boilers. It transfers heat from the boiler's primary water circuit to the domestic hot water supply. It is supplied as a standalone component for replacement on the appliances listed below.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Domestic hot water runs hot then cold, or the hot water output drops away
- Reduced hot water flow rate at the taps when the boiler is running
- Water weeping from the plate pack or from the exchanger connections
- Discoloured domestic water or a rise in system pressure, indicating cross-contamination between the primary and domestic circuits
- Scale or sludge restricting the plate channels and reducing heat transfer
Before you order
- Confirm the model on the appliance data plate matches one of the appliances listed above
- Check the type marking on the existing exchanger reads E8/14
- Identify whether the boiler is the OSO or RSO variant where this applies
- Inspect the condition of the associated seals and connections before fitting
