What it is

This is a pilot burner assembly supplied by Worcester Bosch under part number 87161426140, built around the Honeywell Q385A2010 pilot burner. It sits at the burner rail of the appliance and provides the standing flame that proves ignition and holds the gas valve open on older non-electronic ignition boilers. It is a gas-carrying component and is used across the Worcester 240 and Highflow 400 ranges in both balanced flue and open flue variants, and in natural gas and LPG versions.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The pilot flame will not stay lit once the button or knob is released
  • No pilot flame at all, with the spark or ignition sequence completing but no gas igniting
  • A weak, yellow or lifting pilot flame that will not hold steady against the burner
  • Repeated lockouts or shutdowns shortly after the boiler fires
  • Soot or discolouration around the pilot area, indicating poor combustion at the pilot

Before you order

  • Check the GC number or appliance serial plate to confirm the boiler variant, as BF and OF versions use different part references
  • Confirm the previous number ZBGAS092 against the old component before ordering
  • This part is fitted to a gas appliance; installation must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
