What it is
The Worcester Bosch 87161424140 is an air pressure switch used on Worcester Bosch combi boilers. It monitors the pressure created by the combustion fan and signals the control board that air is moving through the appliance correctly. The boiler uses that signal as a proving check before allowing the gas valve to open and ignition to take place.
Because the switch sits in the fan proving circuit, a failure shows up as a boiler that will not fire, locks out, or cuts out part way through a demand for heating or hot water.
