What it is

The Worcester Bosch 87161424060 is an air pressure switch used on 24 CDi and 24 SBi RSF gas boilers. It monitors the pressure created by the combustion fan and confirms that air is moving through the appliance before the gas valve is allowed to open. The switch therefore sits in the boiler's safety chain, reporting fan and airflow status back to the control board during every demand for heat or hot water.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The boiler locks out or fails to fire even though the fan runs on demand.
  • Ignition is attempted briefly and then the appliance shuts down, repeating on each call for heat.
  • Heating or hot water becomes intermittent, with the boiler dropping out mid-cycle.
  • The fan runs continuously without the burner lighting, or the appliance reports a fan or airflow related fault.
  • Operation becomes unreliable in cold weather or after the boiler has been running for some time.

Before you order

  • Check the GC number and appliance serial plate against the compatibility list to confirm the switch suits your model.
  • Confirm the previous number ZAGAS057 and the alternative number 1018167 match the part being removed.
  • Inspect the sensing tubes and connections for splits or blockages, and replace any seals or tubing that are perished.
  • This part is fitted to a gas appliance; installation must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
