What it is
The Worcester Bosch O-ring (part 87161408140) is a 2.0mm section, 16.00mm internal diameter sealing ring used at joints throughout the boiler's hydraulic and gas-carrying assemblies. It seats between components such as heat exchangers and gas valves and the pipework they connect to, forming a compression seal that keeps water and gas contained. The ring is supplied in packs of ten and is used across the CDi, CDiXtra, Highflow, i Series, Greenstar Oil and SBi ranges.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping or dripping from a joint on the hydraulic side of the boiler
- A smell of gas or a leak detected at a gas valve or pipe connection
- The ring looks flattened, hardened, cracked or swollen once the joint is opened
- Scale or debris sitting in the seal groove, preventing the ring seating properly
- Repeated loss of system pressure with no other obvious cause
