What it is

The Worcester Bosch 8716122007 is a SIT gas valve supplied as a spare for the manufacturer's Greenstar combi and system boiler ranges. It controls the flow of gas to the burner, opening and closing on demand from the appliance control board and modulating the rate to match the heating or hot water load. The valve sits on the gas train between the isolation cock and the burner assembly.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The boiler fails to light or locks out during the ignition sequence
  • No gas pressure reaches the burner when there is a call for heat
  • The flame drops out shortly after ignition
  • Repeated lockouts with fault codes relating to flame detection or gas supply
  • The valve body sticks, leaks or fails to modulate smoothly
