What it is

The Worcester Bosch 87161218050 is an ignition lead, also known as an HT lead, used on Worcester Bosch CBI-series appliances. It carries the high-tension spark from the ignition source to the ignition electrode so the gas/air mixture can be lit on a call for heat. The lead is supplied as a Worcester Bosch spare and is specific to the CBI range rather than a generic pattern item.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The appliance fails to light and goes to lockout with no spark at the electrode.
  • Ignition is intermittent, particularly in damp or cold conditions.
  • The lead shows cracked, charred or brittle insulation, or the connector sits loose on the electrode.
  • Sparking can be heard or seen arcing to earth or to nearby metalwork instead of across the electrode gap.
  • Ignition faults persist after the electrode and ignition source have been checked and proved serviceable.

Before you order

  • Check the GC number on the appliance data badge against the list above before ordering, as the lead is model-specific.
  • This product has been discontinued with no replacement, so confirm availability before booking the job.
  • Inspect the electrode and its seal at the same time, as disturbed joints may need a new gasket or seal.
  • This part is fitted to a gas appliance; installation must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
