What it is
The SUPPORT STRAIN RELIEF is a Worcester Bosch component, part number 8716121468, used on Greenstar 4000 and Gr4700IW combi and system boilers. It holds and supports the cable run within the appliance, relieving strain at the point where the cable enters or terminates, so the conductor and terminal connection are not loaded by the cable weight.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The support is cracked, snapped or no longer clips into position
- The cable is loose in the support and can be moved by hand
- Visible chafing, scuffing or insulation damage where the cable passes through the support
- Cable strain is being taken at the terminal connection rather than by the support
Before you order
- Confirm the boiler model and GC number against the fitment list above before ordering
- Check the part number 8716121468 against the appliance literature or the existing component
- Inspect the cable and terminal area for damage that may need attention at the same time
- Isolate the electrical supply to the appliance before removing or refitting the support
