What it is
This is the main SMPS highflow FS wiring harness supplied by Worcester Bosch for its Greenstar FS range of floor-standing regular gas boilers. The harness carries the low-voltage supply and signal connections between the switched-mode power supply board and the rest of the appliance's electrical assembly, so the control board, fan and ignition sequence receive the correct voltages during a demand for heat. It is a direct replacement item for the original lead fitted at manufacture.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler fails to power up or drops out intermittently with no obvious fault elsewhere.
- Repeated lockouts or error codes traced to the power supply or control circuit.
- Visible damage to the loom: chafed insulation, scorched or discoloured conductors, or a brittle, cracked connector housing.
- Loose or corroded pins at the harness plugs, causing unstable readings or intermittent fan and ignition operation.
- A harness that has been disturbed or stretched during earlier work and no longer sits correctly on its routing clips.
