What it is
The code plug is a small configuration component used on Worcester Bosch Greenstar 30Si ErP Compact combi boilers. It tells the control board which fuel the appliance is set up to burn, so the boiler's operating parameters match the gas supply it is connected to. This version is the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) code plug, part number 8716117698.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler is being commissioned or converted for an LPG supply and the correct fuel configuration plug is not fitted.
- The appliance fails to fire or runs erratically after a fuel change because the board is still configured for the wrong gas.
- Fault or error codes appear that relate to gas type or combustion setup.
- Combustion readings sit outside the expected range for the appliance on LPG.
- The existing plug is damaged, corroded or has been removed and lost during servicing.
Before you order
- Check the appliance GC number and serial plate to confirm the boiler is the LPG variant before ordering.
- Confirm the existing code plug part number matches 8716117698, as the natural gas version is a different component.
- This part is fitted to a gas appliance; installation must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
