What it is
The Worcester Bosch 8716117689 is an APS tube for the Greenstar ErP Compact range of gas boilers. It is the sensing tube that links the air pressure switch to the fan and air path, carrying the pressure signal the switch uses to prove the fan is running before the boiler is allowed to ignite. It is supplied as a service spare and is listed under the hoses and pipes part group.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler locks out or fails to fire, with an air pressure or fan-related fault code showing.
- Repeated pressure switch faults that trace back to a blocked, split or perished tube.
- The tube has hardened, cracked or kinked and no longer seals properly on its spigots.
- Intermittent ignition or flame failure shortly after the fan starts.
- Debris or condensate visible inside the tube bore, restricting the pressure signal.
