The diverter valve assembly is the hydraulic component inside a Worcester Bosch boiler that switches the flow of heated water between the central heating circuit and the domestic hot water plate heat exchanger. It is manufactured by Worcester Bosch and supplied as a complete assembly, part number 8716117405. It is used across the Greenstar i ErP System range of gas boilers.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Domestic hot water runs cold or only lukewarm while the heating circuit stays hot
- Radiators warm up when only hot water is demanded, or hot water is drawn when only heating is called for
- The valve body sticks or the actuator fails to move the diverter between positions
- Boiler locks out or reports a fault during a hot water draw-off
- Water weeping from the valve body or its seals
