What it is

The Worcester Bosch 87161138420 is a siphon cap that forms part of the condensate assembly on Worcester Bosch Greenstar i System boilers. It closes the condensate trap and siphon, holding the water seal that prevents flue gases from passing back through the condensate discharge route. As a serviceable component it can be renewed on its own when the cap is damaged, distorted or no longer sealing correctly.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Water pooling around the condensate trap or on the surface beneath the boiler
  • Dripping or weeping from the cap during running or after shutdown
  • Condensate backing up in the trap, with gurgling or intermittent lockout
  • Visible cracking, distortion or hardening of the cap material
  • A damp or acidic smell close to the condensate discharge point
