Worcester Bosch Thermostat Auto Reset 87161077980

The Worcester Bosch auto reset thermostat is a temperature-sensing control used in Worcester Bosch oil-fired appliances. It monitors the operating temperature of the boiler and cuts the burner when the set point is reached, then restores normal operation automatically once conditions return to range. It is listed under the spare part group thermostats, thermistors and sensors.

• The boiler runs continuously without reaching or holding its set temperature.
• The burner cycles on and off more frequently than normal.
• Heating or hot water output becomes erratic, with noticeable swings in temperature.
• The appliance locks out or shuts down and requires a manual reset to restart.
• Temperature readings at the flow or cylinder no longer match the control setting.

• Confirm the appliance model and serial number against the compatibility list, as the same thermostat body is used across several oil boiler variants.
• Check the existing thermostat marking and the alternative number 1015287 before removing the old component.
• Inspect the thermostat pocket, seal and retaining clip for wear and replace them if damaged, as a poor seal affects sensing accuracy.
