What it is

The Worcester Bosch diverter valve body is the directional water mechanism used in the manufacturer's combi boilers. It controls whether heated water is sent to the central heating circuit or to the domestic hot water outlet, which is what allows a combi boiler to supply both without a separate cylinder. This version is the plastic head type, supplied as a replacement valve body.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • No hot water at the taps while the heating continues to run
  • Radiators warming up when only hot water is being drawn
  • Heating circuit staying cold while hot water is running
  • Water weeping from around the valve body
  • Cracking or distortion of the plastic head
