What it is
A pack of ten M5 x 22 mm screws with matching washers, supplied by Worcester Bosch for assembling and securing the casing on Greenstar and RD Series boilers. The screws hold outer panels and covers in place, keeping the appliance casing rigid and correctly seated around the heat exchanger and internal components. They are supplied in fixed groupings so the correct length and thread are matched to the casing fixings on the appliance.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Casing panels or covers sitting loose, rattling or not pulling down flush against the appliance frame
- Screws missing after a service or casing removal, leaving fixings short
- Heads rounded, chewed or seized so the screw cannot be tightened or removed with a standard driver
- Corrosion or surface rust on the screw shank or head, common where the casing has been exposed to moisture
- Washers perished, split or compressed flat so the screw no longer clamps the panel securely
