What it is

The Ariston 819306-01 is a 2500W electric heating element for Ariston AYVMA wall-hung hot water cylinders. It screws into the cylinder boss to heat the stored domestic hot water directly from the mains supply. The element measures 40mm in diameter and 475mm in length.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • No hot water from the cylinder when the immersion is switched on, with the circuit live and the thermostat calling.
  • The cylinder only produces lukewarm water, indicating the element is scaling up or failing.
  • The element reads open circuit or low insulation resistance on a multimeter test.
  • Repeated tripping of the RCD or MCB when the immersion circuit is energised.
  • Visible corrosion, blistering or a split in the element sheath once it is removed.

Before you order

  • Confirm the cylinder model is an Ariston AYVMA or Protech AYVMA listed above.
  • Verify the existing element matches the 2500W rating, 40mm diameter and 475mm length before ordering.
  • Isolate the electrical supply to the immersion circuit and drain the cylinder before removal.
  • Check the thermostat and immersion wiring, as a fault there can mimic element failure.
