What it is
The Sime 8089801 is a frost thermostat kit intended for Sime gas appliances. It provides frost protection control, allowing the boiler to respond to low ambient temperatures in the area where the thermostat is sited. It is listed for use across a number of Sime Format, Metro, Murelle and Super FOUR models.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler does not fire when the ambient temperature in the sited area drops towards freezing
- Frost protection fails to hold the appliance at its set low-temperature threshold
- The thermostat contacts do not switch, so no demand reaches the boiler
- Pipework or condensate routes in unheated spaces are at risk during cold spells despite the frost stat being fitted
- The existing thermostat is damaged, corroded or has been disturbed during other work
Before you order
- Confirm your appliance model and part number against the fit list above
- Check the existing frost thermostat type and its connection arrangement on the appliance
- Confirm whether a kit is required for your installation rather than a thermostat alone
- Check the appliance's wiring diagram before fitting
