What it is
The chassis front seal is a Glow-worm casing component that sits at the front chassis joint of the appliance. It seals the front casing to the boiler body, closing the gap against air and flue gas leakage. It is used across the GW HXI and Ultracom HXI boiler families.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible cracking, splitting or perishing of the seal material
- The seal has hardened and no longer compresses to close the casing joint
- Distortion or flattening of the seal profile, leaving a gap at the front chassis
- Signs of heat damage or staining around the front casing joint
- The seal is missing, displaced or fails to stay seated when the casing is refitted
