What it is
The Glow-worm 801724 is an overheat thermostat, carrying the reference RC01 005, used across the Glow-worm CXI, HXI and SXI appliance families. It monitors temperature at the heat exchanger and interrupts the burner circuit when the appliance exceeds its safe operating limit, protecting the heat exchanger and surrounding components from overheating damage. It is a safety-related control device rather than a general-purpose room or cylinder thermostat, so it is replaced as a complete unit when it fails.
